London's Beating Heart

London ever the busy city, with so many interesting events constantly cropping up, you soon begin to master the art of prioritising pretty quickly, especially with the ever emerging art exhibitions, pop ups and cafe's (If not you will soon learn what FOMO is all about)!

Last weekend I went to see Charles Pétillon's art installation 'Heartbeat', in Covent Garden. It is made up of 100,000 white balloons. Pretty Impressive...I wonder if he blew them up himself??

The 100,000 balloons represent "the Market Building as the beating heart of this area. Each balloon has its own dimensions and yet is part of a giant but fragile composition that creates a floating cloud above the energy of the market below." White light can be seen gently pulsating inside the balloons, mimicking a heartbeat.

“The balloon invasions I create are metaphors. Their goal is to change the way in which we see the things we live alongside each day without really noticing them."
Charles Pétillon -

It's coming down today guys so pop down if you still can...
...if not you can at least admire the photo's ;)

Love,
Tan xx
